A lot has changed since August 2015, when Hamilton debuted on Broadway. The hit musical based on the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton premiered to widespread critical acclaim and turned Lin Manuel Miranda, who penned the show's music, lyrics, and book, into a household name. Hamilton went on to win eleven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. On July 3rd, Hamilton will take on a new form as Disney+ airs a Hamilton movie featuring the show's original actors. In light of this must-see television event, we checked back in with the 2015 Broadway cast to see what they've been up to since their Hamilton days.

Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton
After Hamilton made Miranda a star, he's worked on a wide array of projects focused on songwriting, acting, and production. This includes a series of collaborations with Disney, like writing the music for Moana and playing a major role, Jack, in Mary Poppins Returns. Now, Miranda is developing a movie version of In the Heights, his first Broadway hit, which is set to premiere in 2021. He is also co-producing and writing new songs for Disney's forthcoming remake of The Little Mermaid.
Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr
Odom originated the role of Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton's political and personal adversary, and won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for the part. In his post-Hamilton life, Odom leaned into both acting and singing. He played abolitionist William Still in the 2019 film Harriet and starred in Only, a post-apocalyptic romance movie. Odom is currently lending his voice to Central Park, a new animated series on AppleTV+, alongside fellow Hamilton alums, Daveed Diggs and Christopher Jackson. Odom also released a Christmas album in 2016 called Simply Christmas and a jazz album, Mr, in late 2019.
Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton
Soo had a large role in the show, playing Alexander's wife, Eliza. Post-Hamilton, Soo stayed on Broadway, cultivating a thriving theatrical career. She played the title role in Amélie during its 2017 Broadway run and appeared as Rebecca in The Parisian Woman from 2017 to 2018. Soo also worked on Moana alongside Lin Manuel Miranda, voicing various characters in the film. Currently, the actress has a few films in post-production, including two new animated features, The One and Only Ivan and Over The Moon.
Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler
Goldsberry had a notable acting career even before Hamilton. She appeared in many television shows including Ally McBeal, One Life to Live, and The Good Wife and starred in Broadway productions of The Lion King, The Color Purple, and Rent. After originating the role of Angelica Schuyler, and winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, Goldsberry's fame continued to grow. She played the title role in HBO's film, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and also starred in the movies The House with a Clock on Its Walls and A24's Waves.
Christopher Jackson as George Washington
Jackson was by no means a Broadway novice when he took on the role of Washington in Hamilton. The actor had already played Simba in The Lion King and originated the role of Benny in In the Heights. Since Hamilton, Jackson also played a role in Moana and stars as Chunk Palmer in the CBS television drama, Bull. Jackson also acted in Ava DuVernay's acclaimed Netflix series, When They See Us, and has a reoccurring role in AppleTV+'s Central Park. In addition to his acting career, Jackson is a member of hip-hop improv group Freestyle Love Supreme, set to be the focus of an upcoming Hulu documentary.
Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson
After winning both Grammy and Tony Awards for originating his two Hamilton roles, Diggs's career has taken off. The actor played a recurring role in the series Black-ish and co-starred in the 2017 movie, Wonder, and 2019's Velvet Buzzsaw. Diggs also co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in the 2018 critically-acclaimed Sundance film, Blindspotting. Right now, Diggs stars in the post-apocolyptic drama series, Snowpiercer, based on the Bong Joon-ho film. Coming up, the actor is set to play Sebastian in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid, produced by Lin Manuel Miranda.
Jonathan Groff as King George III
Groff is another one of the Hamilton actors who was famous before appearing in the show, with major roles on Glee and Looking. Groff also voiced the character Kristoff in both Frozen and Frozen 2. Since Hamilton, Groff continues to star in the Netflix crime drama, Mindhunter. The actor also made his return to theater last year, starring as Seymour Krelborn in the hit Off-Broadway adaptation of Little Shop of Horrors.
Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison
Best known for his impressive Hamilton rap verses, Onaodowan continues to have a burgeoning entertainment career after his time in the show. In 2017, Onaodowan took on a lead Broadway role, replacing Josh Groban as Pierre in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Currently, Onaodowan stars as Dean Miller in the Grey's Anatomy spin-off, Station 19.
Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton
Ramos is also an In the Heights alum, alongside his two Hamilton roles. Since his Broadway days, Ramos appeared in Spike Lee's Netflix adaptation of She's Gotta Have It and played Ramon in the 2018 film, A Star Is Born. Ramos is also set to play the lead in the upcoming film adaptation of In the Heights. The actor found more than fame during his Hamilton run—he's engaged to fellow cast member Jasmine Cephas Jones.
Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds
Since playing the youngest Schuyler sister and Hamilton's illustrious mistress, Jones has appeared in a variety of indie films and television shows. The actress had parts in 2015's Mistress America and the 2018 romantic comedy Dog Days. Jones also played a reoccurring role in the HBO series Mrs. Fletcher. Last year, the actress returned to theater, playing Roxanne in an Off-Broadway production of Cyrano.
