Beyonce, Jay-Z sit during national anthem
Beyonce and Jay-Z were among the celebrity attendees at Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, but drew criticism when they refused to stand during the national anthem. Photos and video of the superstar couple sitting during Demi Lovato's performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" went viral. Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation partnered with NFL on entertainment this year, and the rapper defended his decision while claiming he still supports Colin Kaepernick: "I think we've moved past kneeling.
It's unclear if Beyonce and Jay-Z, intended to sit as a political protest, but Beyonce was also criticized after she previously sang the anthem at the Super Bowl and performed at two halftime shows. Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who hasn't been in the NFL since he kneeled to criticize racial inequality in America, also fired shots at Jay-Z: "I thought were 'past kneeling' tho?"

Super Bowl halftime show
Speaking of the Super Bowl, the halftime show was divisive. Some fans called Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's performance the greatest ever -- "Prince" became a trending topic as others took issue with that -- and others said all of their booty-shaking and pole-dancing was inappropriate for a family-friendly event. (Don't tell that to Adam Levine, who performed shirtless with Maroon 5 last year.) Others simply had fun with it, enjoying Shakira's tongue-wagging (or zaghrouta, an Arabic celebration chant), Lopez's feathery US/Puerto Rico flag, the medley of hits like "Hips Don't Lie," "Jenny from the Block," "I Like It" (with J. Balvin) and "Waiting for Tonight," and the cameo by J. Lo's daughter Emme during "Let's Get Loud."

New movie trailers
If you watched the Super Bowl commercials on Sunday, then you probably saw some new movie trailers for upcoming releases like "Top Gun: Maverick," "F9" (yes, Han is back in "Fast and Furious 9"), "Black Widow," "Minions: The Rise of Gru," and "No Time to Die." Marvel also released a look at three new Disney+ shows featuring the original MCU actors: "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," "WandaVision," and "Loki."

The Jesus Rolls
John Turturro has released the first trailer for "The Jesus Rolls," a sort-of spinoff/sequel to "The Big Lebowski." The Coen Brothers don't want to make another movie about the Dude, but they let him bring back his bowling pedophile character Jesus Quintana for a loose remake of the 1974 French movie "Going Places," about two criminals who "charm, fight or sprint their way out of trouble." The new movie, also starring Bobby Cannavale, Susan Sarandon, Jon Hamm, Audrey Tautou, Pete Davidson, and Christopher Walken, opens Feb. 28.
