Brad Pitt's Dr. Fauci fact checks Donald Trump's coronavirus claims on 'SNL' - Haaretz

Brad Pitt made his “Saturday Night Live” debut starring as Dr. Anthony Fauci in the second "SNL at Home" cold open this weekend. Pitt’s Fauci set out to clarify some of U.S. President Donald Trump’s more outlandish claims about the coronavirus, attempting to explain what Trump was really "trying to say."

"And remember, let's all keep an open mind," Pitt's Fauci began.

Pitt then went on to fact check several clips from Trump over the last month or so, beginning with Trump’s claim that a vaccine would be coming “relatively soon.”

"Relatively soon is an interesting phrase. Relative to the entire history of earth? Sure, the vaccine is going to come real fast," Pitt's Fauci said. "But if you were going to tell a friend, 'I'll be over relatively soon' and then showed up a year and a half later, well, your friend may be relatively pissed off."

Pitt ended the sketch by taking off his wig, breaking character and offering a heartfelt thank you to the real Fauci and to the healthcare workers on the front line.

"And to the real Dr. Fauci, thank you for your calm and your clarity in this unnerving time," Pitt said. "And thank you to the medical workers, first responders and their families for being on the front line."

Pitt then took a beat and kicked off the remote episode of "SNL."

"And now, live, kinda, from all across America, it's Saturday night," Pitt said.

Saturday’s "SNL at Home" also featured a new quarantine song from Adam Sandler and Pete Davidson.
