“Life is pain, Highness! Anyone who says differently is selling something.”

How’s this to soothe the pain? Sunday is absolutely chock-full of streaming entertainment options.

One is the highly anticipated Verzuz face-off between music legends Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight on Instagram Live.

Another is the table read of “The Princess Bride” with the movie’s original cast.

The 1987 classic gets new life just ahead of the film’s 33rd anniversary. The cast will tackle it all, from the Cliffs of Insanity to the Rodents of Unusual Size, the Fire Swamp and the Pit of Despair.

Cary Elwes (Westley/The Man in Black), Robin Wright (Princess Buttercup), Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya), Wallace Shawn (Vizzini), Billy Crystal (Miracle Max), Carol Kane (Valerie), Chris Sarandon (Prince Humperdinck) and Christopher Guest (Count Rugen) will appear alongside director Rob Reiner and unnamed “special guests.”

André the Giant, who played the giant Fezzik, died in 1993.

Patton Oswalt will moderate a Q&A session after the script reading.

How to watch? The event will be livestreamed at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT Sunday, Sept. 13. It’s a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin — those who donate will be sent information on how to access the event. Anyone who chooses to participate can submit questions for the cast.

Mandy Patinkin, who plays Inigo Montoya (“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”) in the movie, recently recalled preparing for a sword fight with Cary Elwes in a conversation with his son posted to Twitter (see below). Patinkin teared up as he remembered that when the fight was finally done, he felt tremendously sad that he wouldn’t get to do it again.

Appreciation of “The Princess Bride” remains strong more than 30 years on. This isn’t even the first revival of the film during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this summer, a long line of celebrities contributed to a “fan” remake of “The Princess Bride” directed by Jason Reitman for Quibi. Multiple actors, including Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, played each character from home, making use of household props (and pets).
