Craving something with a modern or contemporary feel? This 4,771-square-foot home was a custom build and is the work of Dallas architect Michael Malone. It has clean lines, natural light and plenty of expansive walls for future owners to display art.

Listing agent Tom Hughes of Compass said the quality and craftsmanship of the home sets it apart.

“Any time you get an architect-driven house, it makes an enormous difference in the finished product,” Hughes said.

The home has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two half-bathrooms on 0.48 of an acre.

The formal living room and formal dining room sit near the front of the home. In both spaces, natural light seeps in through generous windows. Hughes said all of the windows in the home are made with storefront glass that is thicker than glass used in most homes.

The home was custom built for the original owners in 2004. Malone was brought back in 2017 to help the sellers, who are the second owners of the home, reconfigure a few spaces and maintain the design. The main change made, Hughes said, was the addition of new cabinets and countertops throughout the home.

In the kitchen, you’ll see the updated designs. The cabinets have a sleek look, and the countertops are the natural stone quartzite. The kitchen has two islands, a bar area and a breakfast nook. It overlooks the backyard through large windows. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a den with a fireplace at its center, where family or guests can relax in a more casual environment.

The two bedrooms in the home are on the first floor. The second level has a flex space, currently used as an office, and a half-bathroom. Hughes said the office could easily be converted into a third bedroom.

Outside, there’s a pool with a unique design. Basalt stones from Montana sit in the middle of the pool, making an artful addition to the feature. The home has a covered patio with an outdoor grill, and there is green space for playing or for pets. The entire property is surrounded by a gate, adding privacy and security.

The home at 9191 Manchester Drive in Dallas is listed for $2,795,000.
