The Home Park location of Moe’s Original BBQ closes Monday, February 28, on 14th Street, according to an announcement on Facebook. The restaurant is a frequent stop for barbecue platters for people working in and around Midtown and by students attending nearby Georgia Tech.

Moe’s resides next door to robatayaki and sake restaurant Chirori and pop-up Omakase by Yun, and in the same complex of buildings as Japanese restaurant Wagaya and its market. The barbecue restaurant, which now includes over 60 locations throughout the U.S., is known for its Alabama-style barbecue and catfish and shrimp po’boys.

Earlier this month, chef Jonathan Yun announced the closing of his pop-up Omakase by Yun, an 18-course sushi feast served at the counter of Chirori, by the end of February. He plans to relocate it to a new space later this summer. [FB]

Doodle Pies dessert shop to open this spring on Woodstock Road in Roswell

A dessert shop called Doodle Pies serving sweet and savory mini pies paired with hot coffee opens this spring on Woodstock Road in Roswell. Anne Mullenax, who co-owns the shop with husband Eric, tells Eater that Doodle Pies could open as soon as late March. Expect tiny fresh-baked pies like the Peachy Satisfaction made with peaches, white chocolate, and walnuts or the Ruby Cherry Pie with fresh cherries, granola, and marshmallows on the menu here. There’s also a selection of cold pies, including chocolate silk, cheesecake, passionfruit, and pecan, and the option to customize pies. All pies can come topped with either whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. These personal-sized pies are typically cooked fresh in less than six minutes, according to Mullenax. Gluten-free pies are also available. [Official]
