PARMA, Ohio -- The Original Steaks & Hoagies recently opened its first Cuyahoga County location in the Tri-City Shopping Center at the intersection of Broadview and West Sprague roads in Parma.
“We really believe our product is a totally different world in sandwiches,” company owner Jeff Wiseman said. “We consider it an upscale sandwich shop, because 95 percent of our sandwiches are made hot. Also, our sides are made hot.
“It’s a different take on a sandwich shop. It’s more of a full-service restaurant inside of a sandwich-style setting.”
Featuring an authentic Philly cheesesteak, right down to the Amoroso rolls, The Original Steaks & Hoagies also has locations in Fairlawn, Canton, Lorain and Medina. There’s also a food truck that makes the rounds to popular events.
In addition to roughly two dozen sandwiches -- which include steak, chicken, deli meats and even cauliflower -- wraps and bowls are available, along with sides such as fresh-cut fries and tater tots.
Wiseman said opening a Parma location has been on the company’s radar for years.
“It’s perfect for that city in every way,” Wiseman said. “Also, at that location we’re hitting Parma, Seven Hills, Independence and Broadview Heights.
“It was just the matter of finding the right person who could take our brand and do the right thing with it.”
Franchisee Keith Keger, who opened the new store, agrees.
“I worked at Rush Truck Center for the past eight years, so I know Parma really well,” Keger said. “That’s the reason why I wanted Parma. Considering I love Original Steaks & Hoagies and eat it every day, it just got me into wanting to open a store of my own.
“So when the opportunity came and this location opened up, it was a no-brainer.”
