TOKYO -- Japan is set to exclude pure gasoline vehicles from tax breaks irrespective of fuel economy performance starting in 2025, Nikkei has learned.
The government and the ruling coalition are making final adjustments in tightening the rules for eco-car tax breaks in an effort to accelerate a shift to electric and hybrid cars in Japan.
