The Saturday morning 1989 comedy Saved by the Bell is being reimagined in a brand new series coming to Peacock today, Wednesday, November 25.
California governor Zack Morris finds himself in a bind when he ends up closing too many underfunded schools. Not such a good look. To save himself, he proposes that, instead of providing more funding, he’s going to send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state. And one of these schools is Bayside High.
Bayside High being so well-funded has a student population of privileged kids. These Baysiders “who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes” are going to be in for a shock when the new kids roll in.
From the original series, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Mario Lopez star as they reprise their roles as Jessie Spano and A.C. Slater. John Michael Higgins will be starring as Principal Toddman, and he’ll be joined by a new class of students featuring Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Josie Totah and Haskiri Velazquez.
