MIRO LOMA, CALIF. — Universal Pure, a manufacturer of High Pressure Processing (HPP) systems and other food safety solutions, announced Aug. 17 it is opening a new production plant in southern California, expected to open this fall.
The 30,000-square-foot facility will include two full HPP lines, bringing Universal Pure’s total HPP fleet to 18 systems. The California facility will provide value-added cold chain solutions for its customers.
“Universal Pure has had West Coast expansion in our sights for several years to build a nationwide, strategic facility footprint of multi-service centers,” said Jeff Williams, chief executive officer of Universal Pure. “We are thrilled to announce the opening of this new facility, strengthening our position as the leader in the HPP solutions space, during our 20th year in operation and 10th anniversary in the High Pressure Processing [category]. We look forward to providing our customized, flexible and industry leading services to our diverse base of customers nationwide.”
Universal Pure’s other HPP facilities are located in Connecticut, Georgia, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Texas. Its total operating footprint in the United States is 1.1 million square feet.
