Spoiler Alert: This story reveals SPOILERS for the season 1 finale of Night CourtIf you enjoyed the special cameo in the season finale of Night Court, you may be happy to know that there's more where that came from. The revival series stars Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone, the daughter of Harry Stone, who was played by late actor Harry Anderson in the original show. Also starring in the revival is John Larroquette, reprising his role as Dan Fielding, now serving as a public defender. Rounding out the new cast of characters are India de Beaufort as assistant DA Olivia, Kapil Talwalker as courtroom clerk Neil, and Lacretta as "Gurgs" the bailiff.

In the season 1 finale, Dan Fielding becomes a judge in Louisiana, and his first defendant happens to be Roz, the bailiff in the original night court played by Marsha Warfield. With Warfield reprising the role, Roz revealed her shock at seeing her old friend becoming a judge, and she even jokes to the bailiff upon seeing Dan in the judge's chair, "Take me back to jail." Roz had apparently gotten herself into some legal trouble at a bachelorette party which had resulted in her arrest. It was certainly a fun cameo for fans of the original show, and according to Warfield, it's going to be more than just a one-off appearance for Roz.

"We find out why she went to jail in the first place,” Warfield tells TVLine, confirming her return for season 2. “[We also] get to catch up with her for a little bit [and hear about] some of the things she’s done in her past and is doing now. Then she gets to spend some time with an old friend.”

This doesn't necessarily mean that Roz will be sticking around as a permanent cast member of the show, but Warfield says she'd love to keep doing more episodes of the show for as long as the Night Court team will have her.

"If they ask for more, I’m hopefully available, and I would love to do it," she says.

Warfield also spoke about how her special appearance in the season 1 finale came to be. She said that when the revival was first announced, she "never considered that I might be part of the cast," and wasn't expecting to ever get the phone call. However, she's made it known that she'd be happy to appear as Roz if she were to get the call, and when it finally came in, she was happy to oblige.

"They asked me to do the episode, and I said sure,” Warfield explains. “I’ve always felt like, and I’ve said publicly: If they asked me, I’d be happy to. But I understand why they wouldn’t.”

You can stream Night Court's first season on NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock. The second season is currently in development after the show's renewal in February.
