Morgan shared with Complex why his joining Coming 2 America is a full-circle moment. Morgan gushes about getting to work with some of his favorite actors, but he reveals his personal connection with the original film. After his father died in 1987, Morgan says that Coming To America came out a year later, lifting his spirits.

That was one of the things that attracted me in a positive way. My dad died in '87. [Coming to America] came out in '88. I [didn't have] much to be happy about. When I saw that film, it made me feel good. That's what it means to me. I don't know what it means to anyone else, but that's the significance that it meant to me.
