Jefferson County has made a change to its original mask mandate.

The county is no longer requiring masks for outdoor settings, according to a public health order issued by Executive Director for Jefferson County Public Health, Dawn Comstock.

“We are making good progress on COVID-19 vaccinations — especially among our high-risk priority populations — and folks are getting outside more where the risk of transmission is reduced,” Comstock said in a news release. “While we are at a place where we can remove the outdoor mask requirements, we are asking our residents and visitors to continue wearing their masks indoors a bit longer so we can stay on the right path.”

Jeffco is currently at Level Blue, only one level above Green, meaning that there would be 0-35 cases per 100,000 people in seven days. For Jeffco, there have been 136.9 per 100,000 cases, according to the county’s seven day cumulative case count.

According to data provided by the county, 344,178 vaccines have been administered.

This new mandate will be in effect April 5 and will remain in place until May 6, unless it is rescinded or amended.
