We see more businesses and visitors here in South Mississippi daily as COVID restrictions lift and more people get vaccinated.
At the Palace Casino in Biloxi, a much-needed service is being offered once again for those who need some R&R.
Pure and simple, many are looking for a way to relax, get away from it all, and rejuvenate the senses. After a year hiatus due to COVID, Pure, the Palace Spa and Fitness Center, is up and running again. Director of Hotel Operations George Alexander said, “We closed it down in March of 2020, and we just opened last Thursday. It took us a little while to get it back going. We got a really great staff involved. We’re really excited, and all of our casino and guests are excited.”
Alexander says so far, so good from the steady stream of guests at the Biloxi casino’s hotel and spa, it’s clear that many are in need of a break or at least some sort of get-away. “It was a crazy weekend. Getting facials, all sorts of stress relief. It’s worked out well.”
While more amenities are becoming available, social distancing is still place, and you must still wear your mask upon entry to the casino. “It’s been constant all week long. We see more and more people ready to get out and travel.”
They’re rolling out the red carpet for visitors and locals alike come Mother’s Day. “We’re hoping it’s going to be a busy Mother’s Day. We know everyone brings their Mother in to eat, but they can bring their mother in and let her relax for a little bit in the Spa.”
