In honor of the upcoming release of Space Jam: A New Legacy, the website for the original 1996 Space Jam movie received a major upgrade.
Fans of the cult Bugs Bunny-led film will be happy to know that the original, '90s-era website has been preserved as a tab on a new Space Jam website, according to ComicBook.com.
The new website is located at SpaceJam.com and features a modern design in line with the new film's branding. The site also currently features the first trailer for the new film, which finds LeBron James taking on the role originated by Michael Jordan.
You'll also find an official synopsis for the film, which reads,
Welcome to the Jam! NBA champion and global icon LeBron James goes on an epic adventure alongside timeless Tune Bugs Bunny with the animated/live-action event "Space Jam: A New Legacy," from director Malcolm D. Lee and an innovative filmmaking team including Ryan Coogler and Maverick Carter. This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids. When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.'s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It's Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron's bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even "King" James by playing the game their own way.
A Space Jam icon in the top right corner of the home page will take you directly to the original website for Space Jam, which launched in 1996. It's there that you find the completely preserved site, complete with space-themed sections such as "The Lineup," "Stellar Souvenirs," "Behind the Jam," and "Planet B-Ball." Each of the sections on the throwback site features the original content, exactly as it looked at the time of the original film's release.
In addition to the website revamp, it was announced over the weekend that Zendaya has joined the cast of A New Legacy as the voice of Lola Bunny. The official Twitter account for the film confirmed the news by tweeting a GIF of Lola playing basketball, along with the caption, "Welcome to the Jam, @Zendaya."
Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, Space Jam: A New Legacy stars LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Zendaya and Sonequa Martin-Green. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max July 16.
