Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters serving Lyon County's For Kid's Sake fundraiser is going strong. So strong in fact, it has already surpassed its original goal.
BBBS serving Lyon County Director Jacque Wellnitz recently spoke with KVOE News and reported that a number of businesses participating in the fundraiser have hit their individual goals as well.
Additionally, Holman Logistics will have a raffle fundraiser beginning Wednesday and concluding on May 7 for a grill and meat package. For tickets, residents can go online to Kansasbigs.com or purchase tickets from a Holman employee.
Wellnitz says the overall goal was originally set at $12,000 and she was very happy to report the fundraiser has already gone above and beyond that total.
The For Kid's Sake Fundraiser continues as Wellnitz says there has been a great deal of interest expressed in the program. She says they are still working to recruit more bigs and littles and invites anyone interested to attend all upcoming events or to contact BBBS serving Lyon County by calling 620-342-5645.
The organization has had to postpone their "Be a Big for a Day" event that was scheduled for next weekend. An exact date for when the event will take place has yet to be announced, however, Wellnitz says it will likely take place in the summer.
