There are a lot of different materials, metals, and resources for you to get your head around in No Man's Sky. To make things even more complex, you can create a ton of different concoctions and combinations of resources too. Anything that you can create from the resources that you collect will always be helpful to you.

This is why it's really useful to learn how to quickly and easily make them. Some resources are easier to find than make but some are far easier to make than to spend time looking for. Unlike farming Quicksilver, making or finding Pure Ferrite is rather straightforward.

What Is Pure Ferrite?

Pure Ferrite is a type of metal in No Man's Sky. It is the pure form of normal Ferrite which means it's solely Ferrite and doesn't contain deposits of anything else that you may have picked up whilst Mining.

As with many harvested metals and minerals in the game, Pure Ferrite can be used to build a large number of tools or structures to help you in your journey through the stars.

How To Find Ferrite

First, you need to have the right tools. You need to have a Mining Beam as this allows you to mine materials from different things on each planet. You need to mine Ferrite and this is relatively easy as it's one of the most common things to be found on every planet.

To find out which objects will reward you with Ferrite, you can walk up to them and scan them. To do this press L2 then hold R2 to scan the object. If you have already discovered an object then you just need to walk up to it and it should tell you what it contains.

The next thing you need to do is mine it, so aim your weapon at it and press R2 to mine materials. You should wait until you have fully mined an object before leaving because it's easier to get enough materials this way.

How To Make Pure Ferrite In The Portable Refiner

When you've mined enough Ferrite, you need to go through your menu and bring out a Portable Refiner.

Note: To make a portable refiner you need 30 Oxygen and one metal plating.

To select your refiner on Playstation Consoles, press up on your directional pad and select Tech. Then press up to select Portable. From here, go along until you can select the Portable Refiner. When selected, place this down anywhere around you.

To make Pure Ferrite, you need to put the Ferrite that you have harvested in this part:

Then you need to make sure there is enough fuel supply in this section:

You need Carbon to use as fuel for the Fuel Inverter.

You will then see in the end section that it says Output - then Pure Ferrite Dust.

All you need to do is set the number of Pure Ferrite you want to produce and click begin. You will then have Pure Ferrite waiting in the Output section and all you need to do is click on it to move it to one of your free storage slots.

Purifying regular Ferrite is as simple as that but it's not the only way to obtain pure Ferrite.

Harvesting Raw Pure Ferrite

Pure Ferrite can also be found in objects on planets, though it's less common than standard Ferrite. You will need to have an Advanced Mining Laser equipped to be able to harvest it.

You find out which objects contain it in the same way you did with the standard Ferrite.

You can take either option for finding or making Pure Ferrite but the result will be exactly the same.
