Uniontown, OhioWJW) — Carol Shell Letsky is not a stranger to nature.
Originally from Copley, Ohio, she was surrounded by deer-like wildlife. She currently lives off the Tascalawas River, home to her husband Ron and the bald eagle in Uniontown, Ohio.
But on the morning of July 10, she saw something unusually strange.
“That morning I was sitting outside with a cup of coffee on the camera, and the deer was playing,” Letoski said. So she started snapping. “I didn’t know what I had until I processed them,” she said.
She found her mother and two fawns playing in the river with splashes as the sun shined on the surface of the water.

She shared a series of photos with her Facebook group Ohio through the lens. Her post received about 9,000 responses, and every post on this page was record-breaking. Followers and photographers say they have experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity described as “great,” “great,” and “beautiful.”
One commentator said, “Beautiful pictures showing that animals also have moments of pure joy! Thank you for sharing. I love them !!”
Letsky said she wasn’t even a professional photographer. When the pandemic began, she and her husband went into a hobby.
“when COVID Hit, retired. I decided to buy a camera because there is a house along the river and there are bald eagles, deer and migratory birds, “she said. “I’ve just started taking pictures.”
Her husband read about photography and their cameras.
“I told my husband 27 years later, and I finally found what I wanted to do with him,” she said.
