As you reach the Palworld endgame, to craft more complex pieces of technology, you'll need rarer minerals (just like in the real world!). Any weapon, gadget, or crafting station that requires electric power needs Circuit Boards, and the only way to build those is with Pure Quartz. The Circuit Board is the only thing that Pure Quartz is used for. But if you want your Pals to start manufacturing weapons for you, you're going to first have to start mining a lot of this mineral.

Pure Quartz Locations
The official description for Pure Quartz says, "Pure Quartz is often found in snowy fields and similar places." Whereas Coal is associated with the hot desert, Pure Quartz is associated with the icy tundra, so you're looking for the coldest places on the map. Unlike Coal, however, Pure Quartz is only dropped by some of the most powerful Pals in the game, namely Jetragon, Astegon, and Frostallion Noct. Farming those isn't really a safe or efficient option, so your best best is finding a location in the wild.

If you see a jagged black rock in a snowy area, then it's probably Pure Quartz. We've marked two locations on the above map where they cluster together in abundance. (They're at roughly -213, 250 and -257, 391.) Both are viable locations to establish a mining colony. Deploy your very best mining Pals and build up a self-sustaining settlement with a reliable food source, a Hot Spring, Pals to move resources, and storage.
