BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Pure Barre Bridgewater is stepping up their already stringent cleaning to bring peace of mind to clients returning to the studio on Tuesday.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced gyms will be allowed to reopen beginning on Sept. 1 amid the coronavirus. Read More: Gov. Murphy: NJ Gyms, Indoor Amusements Reopen Amid Coronavirus

Dianne Butters and her sister Janet Turchi own the location at 3150 Route 22 West in Branchburg. They are excited to reopen and have installed the Caspr Pro Mobile Unit, which stands for Continuous Air and Surface Pathogen Reduction. It has been widely adopted in healthcare environments, including hospitals, ICUs and surgery centers to reduce 99.9 percent of harmful pathogens from air and surfaces.

"We want to keep our community safe and healthy in mind and body," Butters said.

Butters has been continuously evolving and adapting to the changes to keep her business afloat since the pandemic hit in Match.

"It's been a rough five and a half months," Butters said. "We are kind of rolling with the punches. We are trying to stay positive throughout all of this."

In March, when Butters was forced to close she began offering live-streamed virtual classes and then expanded to outdoor classes recently.

Butters offers the outdoor classes in the morning on Thursday, Friday, and weekends. Participants are provided with a chair to lean on for the exercises.

"People love being together and it creates a sense of community. It's been really great," Butters said.

Now she will also offer limited classes inside the studio beginning on Tuesday where areas will be marked to allow for social distancing and masks will be required.

"We are going to continue to push forward. We are kind of evolving since we have been closed," Butters said. "I am humbly surprised in terms of how amazing our client base has been. We have clients who used to work out 2-3 times per week pre-COVID have been working out 5 or more times a week since we closed via live streaming. It's been pretty incredible."

The reopening coincides with the studio's Fall Fit Challenge which begins on Sept. 8 where clients can set new fitness goals. The challenge continues through 30 classes in 60 days.

Exclusively for the Fall Fit Challenge, Pure Barre is offering a 3-month unlimited membership special for $360.

For those interested, the first class at Pure Barre Bridgewater is free. The studio will continue to run a hybrid schedule of live stream, outdoor and in-studio classes.

"There is no doubt that through COVID and moving forward, we are stronger together," Butters said.
