The date of the SMU-Texas State football game is changing again. The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 5. Then, last week, the schools announced the date would move to Aug. 29.
Texas State sent out a press release Monday noting that the game would be moved back to Sept. 5, the date the game was originally scheduled to be played.
AAC commissioner Mike Aresco told The Dallas Morning News on Sunday that it’s possible SMU would look into pushing back the Aug. 29 start date.
Aresco also said the original purpose in moving up the game was to build a buffer between the first and second games to iron out protocols or quarantine, if necessary.
Texas State said it will be releasing information on stadium capacity and ticket purchases at a later date.
