“We went to a cemetery and swore an oath by drinking each other’s blood. We took a knife and cut our hands and then drained our blood into a cup to drink it. We smoked a lot of mota [marijuana], and then we cut open a cat.” — MS-13 gang member on his initiation.

That kind of spells out the depravity of MS-13.

Part street gang, part cult, pure evil.
And now they’re here, a Canadian problem, as my Toronto Sun colleague Chris Doucette reported last week.
Cops say that three suspected members are facing attempted murder charges for the botched mistaken identity hit on an innocent senior citizen in Schomberg in February.
Instead, detectives say, the victim — who is expected to survive — was the wrong guy. The suspected MS-13 hitters were allegedly doing the dirty work for a third party. In fact, one has been drilled with similar charges in suburban Montreal.
Cops believe that hit was another example of botched bloodshed.
Since its founding in Los Angeles in the 1970s, MS-13 — or Mara Salvatrucha — has committed countless murders, punctuated by their shocking brutality. Often, it is women and children first for the slaughter.

As politicians dozed, MS-13 became entrenched in the U.S., Central America, Mexico and now, Canada.
Of course, like Soviet dictator Josef Stalin on the eve of Hitler’s 1941 invasion, we were warned — and ignored the peril.
In 2008, Guatemalan prosecutor Robert Morales told The Globe and Mail that MS-13 gang members were seeking refugee status in cuddly Canada.
“We know that there are members of Mara 18 and MS-13 who are in Canada and are seeking to stay there,” he told the newspaper. “We’re hearing about Canada more and more often in connection with gang members here.”
Former Mountie John Robin was more blunt: “I think [gang members] have a feeling that police here won’t treat them in the harsh manner they get down there.”

And in the United States, the murders kept coming, with MS-13 frequently handling the bloody end of the stick in underworld retribution at the behest of Mexico’s hyper-violent dope cartels.
More recently, New York City and suburban Long Island has been ground zero for violence. Cops said that between January and April of 2016, MS-13 was responsible for a whopping 17 homicides on Long Island.
A mom on Long Island had allegedly “disrespected” MS-13 in 2010. So they murdered her two-year-old baby, then killed her with two bullets to the head.
Take two MS-13 members who butchered a civilian in a local forest. He died so the killers could boost their reputations; detectives said the duo were already up for 21 homicides.
In 2018, Josue Portillo, 17, pleaded guilty to slaughtering four teen boys with machetes. He thought they were rival gang members.
It’s likely we’ll be hearing a lot more about MS-13 in Canada during the coming years.
