Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the next Ghostbusters movie. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, a sequel to 2021's Ghostbusters: Afterlife, features the Spengler family in New York City where they team up with most of the original Ghostbusters crew--including Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd--to face off against a new evil: The Death Chill.
The Death Chill is an evil ghost of some kind that threatens to thrust the world into a second ice age. But the Ghostbusters are going to stop that from happening. Take a look at the first trailer below.
Frozen Empire is directed by Gil Kenan from a script by Jason Reitman and Kenan. It also stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O'Connor, Logan Kim, and Annie Potts.
Murray, Hudson, and Aykroyd also appeared in Afterlife. The fourth main original Ghostbuster, Harold Ramis, passed away in 2014. Prior to Afterlife, Sony made a Ghostbusters move in 2016 featuring Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.
In other Sony Pictures news, the movie studio has teamed up with Nintendo for a Legend of Zelda live-action movie that's now in the works.
