After reaching its original funding goal in just four hours, the Kickstarter for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness has officially set its sights on a new $1,000,000 target, revealing unlocked rewards for backers and a brand new stretch goal.
The TMNT game blew past its original $250,000 goal thanks to immense fan support, making the campaign to remaster the 1985 tabletop roleplaying game a success, and earning it a spot on Kickstarter's 'Projects We Love' list. However, with a treasure trove of stretch goals and rewards unique to Kickstarter, Palladium Books isn't done yet.
On Kickstarter, Palladium Books has announced $1,000,000 as its new goal, confirming that if this target is met, it will unlock a new Fugitoid miniature and specific rules for the character. Having already reached three stretch goals, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness campaign now includes all four turtles as pre-generated characters, an introductory adventure written by TMNT comics' Sophie Campbell and Kevin Siembieda, and the original game's cover art and Transdimensional TMNT expansion cover art as 8.5"x11" prints.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness Is Coming Soon
The Tabletop RPG Is Funded, & Is Now Unlocking Stretch Goals
The remastered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness will include clarified rules and new art from a murderer's row of artists, such as Sophie Campbell, Freddie E. Williams II, David Petersen, Jim Lawson, Steven Cummings, and co-creator Kevin Eastman. Two 256-page hardcover books will collect the original game and its additional adventure books, as well as a celebration of the original release including never-before-seen materials from Eastman's personal collection.
The Kickstarter launched to immediate fan support, and includes a variety of stretch goals and bonus products, with miniatures, character-specific dice, and game screens, among others. The original 1985 game was beloved by TMNT fans and allows players to create their own mutated animals and take part in adventures across a post-apocalyptic America, with extra rules for magic and time travel. The game draws on the world of the original TMNT comics, and so takes a dark, gritty look at TMNT lore, however it is ambitious in scope, and aims to make any storyline players can think up a possibility.
TMNT Fans Keep Unlocking Kickstarter Goals
The Game Has Received a Huge Amount of Support
Fans have until November 29 to back the project, which is intended to begin shipping in September 2024. Kickstart's exclusive miniatures currently include Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Casey Jones, Splinter, and two Utrom Aliens, with the Fugitoid joining that list should the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness Kickstarter hit its new $1,000,000 funding target.
