Order the “Ocky Way” at this new dessert shop
Rahim Mohamed went viral on TikTok for making sandwiches he calls “ the Ocky Way” of the Red Hook bodega he manages. The souped-up sandwiches were stacked high with unlikely flavor combinations. Not only did it catch the attention of his four-million-plus followers, but also celebrities and the New York Times. This fall, Mohamed capitalized on that success, opening the Ocky Way Chocolate Factory, a dessert shop specializing in knafeh, waffles, crepes, and shakes. It’s now open at 6740 Fifth Avenue, at Senator Street, in Bay Ridge. Ask for your order “the Ocky Way” for something outrageous. Catering is also available.

Tickets are already up for the launch party, where samples of dishes from her menu will be served from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by a dance party. 20 percent of the proceeds will go to Anera, a nonprofit, working to aid Palestinian refugees.
