Center For Performing Arts To Virtually Host Original Cast Of Broadway's 'The Lion King' - Onward State

Can you feel the love tonight?

Penn State’s Center for the Performing Arts will host a virtual reunion for members of the original Broadway cast of “The Lion King” on Wednesday, March 10.

The free event will be livestreamed on YouTube Live. If you are unable to attend, the video will be available for on-demand viewing immediately following the event until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 14.

Returning performers include Grammy and Tony winning award actress Heather Headley (Nala), Max Casella (Timon), Tom Alan Robbins (Pumbaa), and Geoff Hoyle (Zazu). There will also be an appearance from current Simba performer Bradley Gibson.

The original production first ran in 1997, and since then, the show has become the third-longest running production on Broadway. The original cast also featured Samuel E. Wright, who many people know as Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid.”

The event will allow the cast to talk about what they’ve been up to since performing in show on Broadway, the retelling of funny stories during rehearsal and production, and even answer some questions the audience may have.
