According to multiple reports, the Denver Broncos have placed an original round tender on restricted free agent running back Phillip Lindsay. This means that a team doesn’t have to give up any draft pick compensation if they signed Lindsay to an offer sheet.
Broncos put the low (original-round) tender on RB Phillip Lindsay per source. Wow. Basically teams can try to sign him away without draft pick compensation. Broncos can match. #9sports

This is a bit of a surprise considering some expected Lindsay to get a second-round tender. Now, any team can freely sign Lindsay for nothing, unless the Broncos match.
Personally, I do not see the Broncos matching any offer sheet considering they are already paying Melvin Gordon starter money and can draft a running back for a fraction of the price. So, it seems likely that Lindsay could be parting ways with the Broncos this offseason.
Lindsay is coming off an injury slowed season that saw him have his worse career season with the Broncos. Also, he doesn’t really seem like an ideal fit in Pat Shurmur’s offense, so that all could be why General Manager George Paton decided to go this route.
